I started at KTO Karatay University studying civil engineering, the safe, respectable choice. What I actually spent my free time doing was redesigning app interfaces nobody asked me to touch, just because a flow bothered me.
The moment that made the transfer obvious: a structural analysis project taught me how to make a beam not fail. It never once asked whether anyone would understand how to use what I built on top of it.
I transferred out, picked up Management Information Systems at Anadolu University to keep a technical foundation, and started freelancing as a UI/UX designer on the side. Civil engineeringâs rigor stayed with me. I just pointed it at people instead of materials.
